Sofiero invites you to Autumn Lights
Every evening until 14 November, the gates are opened to an atmospherically lit park with exciting light installations inspired by Crown Princess Margareta’s color palette, interests and history. Welcome to Autumn Light.
During this year’s Autumn Lights, visitors can experience the park through the eyes of Crown Princess Margaret. The park is lit in the color palette she used when she created her flower beds – yellow and red with hints of blue and white. The installations also reflect her new thinking and commitment to the garden. Read about all the light installations here
Who was Crown Princess Margareta?
The Crown Princess was a versatile woman. A pioneer, creator and inspired many. She became involved in social issues, was interested in sports and spent her time with both friends and family. Sofiero Castle received Crown Prince Gustav VI Adolf and Crown Princess Margareta as a wedding gift where they together created the beautiful garden. Here they spent all their summers. They opened the gates and invited the people to enjoy the garden.
Experiences for the whole family
Under Autumn Light, there is something for everyone to discover. Walk around in peace and quiet and enjoy all the illuminated parts of the park. Let the children play at the royal playhouses and go on a reflex hunt in Sagoskogen. (Bring a flashlight.) You can also go on a tip walk with a chance to win great prizes. Trays for the reflex hunt and the tip walk can be picked up inside the entrance. Bistro Orangeriet is open for the coffee-hungry and the Castle Restaurant offers a warming menu.
