Swedish stars in Late Night Concerts

This summer has not been like previous summers. Covid-19, social distancing and special rules have forced the cultural sector to think new and to think differently. Gröna Lund, the amusement park in Stockholm has for many years offered popular concerts on its outdoor stage, with both Swedish and international artists. This has been a natural and appreciated part of the Swedish summer.

This year, the conditions have been different and they have been forced to create a completely new concept – Late Night Concerts. A selection of popular Swedish artists have been allowed to take the stage at Gröna Lund and perform their concerts without an audience – instead, the concerts have been broadcast on the Swedish TV channel TV4.

Unique music experiences have been created with artists such as Benjamin Ingrosso, Molly Sandén, Miriam Bryant and others. The last concert was performed with Sweden’s pop queen Zara Larsson, who like the others offered a fantastic concert from an empty Gröna Lund. With songs that took over the world, an unforgettable evening full of surprises was offered. One surprise was an unexpected duet with one of Sweden’s by far most popular artists – Carola.

It is nice to realize that even though 2020 goes down in history as a different year in many ways, that new concepts can still be created. Concepts that can delight and entertain as usual.
