Target reached for crowdfunding campaign during Swedish Winter
During the Swedish Winter Project which took place in Hong Kong in December, a crowdfunding campaign to help the children of Hong Kong was initiated.
In collaboration with Bring Me A Book Hong Kong the project was able to exceed the crowdfunding target of 50.000 HKD. The money raised will purchase an entire lending library that will serve low-income families in Hong Kong.
An event for the Children
Many of the activities during the Swedish Winter project were for the children – and all of them were for free. Children could meet the real Santa Claus at Tsim Sha Tsui, they could take part in a reading corner in collaboration with Bring Me A Book and the Swedish children literature character Alfie Atkins, they could participate in ornament making and other activities in the creative corner, they could Dance a Book, and they could enjoy magic by the Swedish magician Charlie Caper.
2019 was the second year Swedish Winter was organized in Hong Kong, by the Consulate General of Sweden. We already now look forward to the next time.
